The book showcases an assortment of nature images sourced from the internet, which have been utilized, replicated, compressed, and resized. These images are enlarged to a minimum width of 108mm with a resolution of 300dpi, and subsequently divided into 36 smaller sections.
By scaling and slicing the images, we focus on how they look like artificial copies rather than real nature. We can see pixels, distortions, blurry edges, and mistakes that reveal the computational history of each image, similar to the way microbiology examines cells and molecules, new patterns and structures emerge. These tiny building blocks, like cells in a biological organism, carry the imprint of their origin and the history of their transformation.
