Have a look at this thing. From all sides – what is it doing? A scientific instrument as a strange, out of place, disconnected creature in an environment, nevertheless trying to categorize the world in a comically insufficient schema.
The Cyanometer referenced in this work, was one of the instruments used by Alexander von Humboldt in his South-America Studies (1799–1804). It consists of an Array of cyan nuances, which were used to measure the sky’s color and therefore try to get conclusions about the atmospheric composition in different places of the world.
